Today’s a day for reflection. As we head into Summer, I’m feeling renewed in spirit. I’m letting go of the negativity of months past and embracing what makes me happy. 🙂
I know all these things to be true…
Life is a blessing that too many take for granted. You only get one, so live it. Every single day.
Every moment you spend worrying over the things you haven’t done is a moment you could be out doing something about it.
Prioritizing happiness is more important than prioritizing money and status. When we die, we don’t take the house or the car with us, but our happiness is eternally ours.
When you feel like a failure, turning to God brings the greatest relief. Remember He loves you more than you can know.
Loving and nurturing your body boosts confidence and well-being. Eat right, exercise, get outside and play.
Jealousy comes as naturally as breathing but its toxins will kill your ambition. Let it go.
Focusing on what others are doing will only depress you. Be your own person. Make your own mistakes and your own victories.
When you start something, finish it before starting anything else. Rack up little accomplishments every day and you’ll never feel lazy and unfulfilled.
Listening to music that touches your soul can bring on emotions you didn’t even know you had. Let it inspire you.
When you’re drowning in a busy life, make a to-do list and get to work. Nothing relieves stress better than checking off points on that list.
It’s okay to not be the best at something. It’s okay to not even be good at anything. You have something to offer the world, even if it’s only your smile and warm heart. Use it and serve others as best as you can.
Losing yourself in nature, away from the computer, cell phone, and television, is the greatest high for the soul. Even if it’s just laying out a blanket on the grass and staring up at the clouds. Make time to do it.
When you feel overwhelmed, turn off Facebook and open a book instead. Lose yourself in words and enrich your mind.
Waking up early enough to have a relaxed–not rushed–morning, especially during the week, is key to having a great day. Enjoy your coffee and go for a run, or take an extra long shower while listening to music. Start the day off right.
Every morning when you wake up, think of something good to look forward to that day. A new outfit to wear, a new playlist on your iPod, the season finale of your favorite TV show. Whatever it is, remember to be thankful for each and every day and you’ll never feel unsatisfied.
When you love someone, show it. Don’t be afraid to show affection. The greatest tragedy in life is when we hold back out of awkwardness or fear from displaying love. Love is all we have, so cherish it. Grow it. Enjoy it.
Do something every day for someone else and don’t worry how it will benefit you. It will, in the only place that really matters. The heart.
Give someone a compliment, a smile, a hug. They may need it more than you could know.
Lastly, don’t let the terrors of the world make you lose sight of the beauty. For every one reason to be sad, there are 99 reasons to be happy. Choose the 99.
