God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise

You know that feeling you get when a song really speaks to you? And not just to you, but seemingly to your very soul? It’s seriously one of the most blissful, enlightening feelings I’ve ever experienced. I’m always on the hunt for new music, to find more songs that speak to me this way. As a writer, music is so inspirational to me. When I find a song that clicks, I play it over and over and over again until I know every note and lyric by heart. Oftentimes, these songs inspire emotions within me that I pour out into my characters and stories.

Today I discovered this song. Ray’s an old favorite of mine, but while I’d spent so much time loving his “Trouble” album, I’d missed this gem of an album. Thankfully, I rectified that oversight and downloaded the album today. Excuse me now while I melt under the mesmerizing beauty of his voice. 🙂
