Bring it on, 2013! This Indie Author is Ready…

2013-new-year1

“People say time changes things, but it’s not true. Doing things changes things. Not doing things leaves things exactly as they were.” — House

So everyone has been doing New Year’s blog posts so I thought I’d toss in my two cents about 2012 and my hopes for the future. Without a doubt, 2012 was the most productive, exhilarating, and monumental year of my entire life. I can look back on the things that I did and honestly say I’m damn proud of myself. Never before have I looked uncertainty and doubt boldly in the eye and declared that I wasn’t going to back down, I wasn’t going to give up. Never before have I transformed my life and truly molded myself into that person I had always wanted to be. In 2012, I did that.

I took the labor of the two previous years (my book series The Dryad Quartet) and I published them on my own. I put myself out there in a way I never knew I could, and honestly never thought I would. But I did it, and by doing so I changed the course of my life.

The people that I met in 2012 are people that I hope will be lifelong friends. They are people just like me, authors and readers and quirky nerds. We have this great community online and even though we are spread out all across the world, I feel as though we are and have been the best of friends forever. I cannot express how excited I am to step into 2013 with all of you and shine like bright and brilliant stars, ready to light up the world.

I have to give a special shout out to two extraordinary people who have become great friends of mine and who have taken my books and turned them into true masterpieces. Joni and Vern of Blue Harvest Creative found me one day several months ago on Facebook and the rest is history! Thank you both for being my support system, my cheerleaders, and of course, my book designers! 🙂 I can’t wait to see what great things we create together this year! I know it will be fantastic!

So now we enter into this new year…what will 2013 bring? I hope it brings great things for the Indie Author community, and success to many who have taken the chance the way I have. I hope we love more, laugh more, enjoy life more, and most importantly, I hope we write more. We all have such great stories to tell…let’s make sure we tell them this year!

Now I’ll share my stats and my goals…

  1. What a wonderful and beautiful blog you wrote. We are so proud of you and everything that you have accomplished, as well as what we have accomplished together! We are so blessed to know you. We know 2013 is going to be a great year for all of us and we are looking forward to sharing it with one of our best friends…you! 😀

  2. I’m so glad that I met you and got to know you this past year. I love your books and can’t wait to read Rise of the Notorious. (is the revision done yet? 🙂 LOL) And because of you, I also had the wonderful fortune of finding Joni and Vern and for that I will be forever grateful.
