So I had this idea the other day, and I really think I’m going to run with it. Not that I have much time to spare or anything, but wouldn’t it be fun to have a blog dedicated specifically to book trailers and cool cover art? I’m sure there are blogs out there that do this, but I just thought it was a fun concept!
After all, one of the funnest parts of marketing your book is doing promotional material for it, and cover art and book trailers are so important to catching people’s interest. But having a cool blog where authors could share their stuff, get feedback on it, and hopefully get some exposure with readers would be excellent.
I even had this idea of helping fellow authors design better covers and teaching them how to make book trailers. I’m no expert, but I’ve been getting a lot of practice and I think I could whip up a good tutorial on how to do it. And with the cover design, we could offer authors advice on how they can improve their covers, and maybe even suggest some new mock up designs!
Really, the possibilities are endless, but I think this could be a lot of fun!
So what do you guys think? Would you like a fun blog to watch a bunch of book trailers on and display book covers?
Either way, stay tuned because I’m pretty pumped up about this idea now so it’s likely to happen 😉
Speaking of book trailers, I released a new one today announcing the release of my final two books in the Dryad Quartet series (it’s actually more of an updated trailer from an earlier one I released, so if you think you’ve seen it before, keep watching because it has new stuff in it!).
Check it out, and let me know if you like it!

I think that would be awesome. I also think the tutorial on book trailers would be great. I have no idea where to even start on something like that, even though it sounds cool. So if you put up a tutorial that explains how to go about making trailers I would personally love it and I’m sure there are plenty of others out there who would love it too.
It’s actually easier than you would think to make a book trailer! As long as you have a good video making program (there are free ones out there, I’ll do a post about it soon) and they practically make the video for you 🙂 I’ll get to work soon on a nice tutorial about it.
Thanks for nominating my blog, Katie! Gives me a great follow-up post for Monday’s Musings 🙂
You’re very welcome Dariel! 🙂 I’ll do that guest post soon!
